Hi all,
Of course you are probably aware that this year the IAC will take
place
in Korea (
www.iac2009.kr/).
I was told that the local organising committee is going to organise a
really
big country-wide (?) Space Festival, details:
http://www.iac2009.kr/iac/INTERNATIONAL/festival1_new.jsp
(the info on this page doesn't well reflect the size of the event that
I was told)
On our side, did you know that with the support of the Heinlein
Foundation
we have had the Heinlein guide translated into Korean? Check it out:
http://www.worldspaceweek.org/Heinlein_Teacher_Guide_Korean.pdf
To make a long email short: the IAC is a SUPER opportunity for us
and I would like your help to make the best out of it.
Can I ask you for your ideas how you think we can best approach
(and distribute materials to) as many Korean (and neighboring
countries if possible) teachers as possible?
If money is needed, there is a possibility that the Heinlein
Foundation
is willing to help us if we come with a realistic (given the time
left) plan
of action.
Thank you for your thoughts.
I have already contacted So Young (KARI) who is our Secretary,
our Korean National Co-ordinator Gi-Joong Kim (Young Astronauts
Korea) and Seung-Hyun Hwang (KARI) who helped translate last
year's
www.worldspaceweek.org/Invitation_to_teachers.html for their
ideas/suggestions/thoughts.
Let's quickly draw up a list of *concrete actionable bullet points*.
Can you send me your suggestions, please?
Lastly, I am thinking that perhaps we need to advertise the Korean
Heinlein guide a bit more pronounced on our website: what do you
think?
Thank you for your feedback.
