FIŜHOKADO
Maljunulo staradas en la pluvo antaŭ la drinkejo. En la mano estas bastono, sur ĝi ŝnureto, ĝi pendas en flakon. Preteriras lin viro, li nekredeme rigardas kaj alparolas la maljunulon:
-- Diru, kion vi faras ĉi tie?
-. Mi fiŝhokas -- respondas la maljunulo.
La junulo eksentas kompaton, li invitas lin al biereto. Ili sidadas apud po unu kruĉo da biero, la junulo demandas la maljunulon:
-- Kaj diru, kiom da fiŝoj vi jam kaptis?
-- Ĝis nun sep, vi estas jam la oka.

ANGLING
An old fellow is standing in the rain in front of a pub. In his hand is a stick with a string dangling from it into a puddle.
A man walks past, regards this with incredulity and addresses the old man,"Tell me, what are you doing here?"
"I'm fishing," replies the old chap.
The young man feels sorry for him and offers him a beer. They are sitting with a jug of beer when the young man asks the old man, "And tell me, how many fish have you caught already?"
"Seven, up to now, - you make eight."
