Windows 7 has support to change the desktop wallpaper from an RSS feed.  The vrindvan darshan site: http://www.vrindavandarshan.com has beautiful photos and seems to be updated daily.  They have no RSS feed though.

I put some feedback requesting it, but i doubt there will be speedy feature additions to an email feedback.

Does anyone know any regular RSS feeds of deity darshans?  Is anyone interested in creating a third party RSS feed for the vrindavandarshan site?  They seem to have a very regular filename structure so should be easy to make 3 separate feeds for different altars and 1 main feed with all three per day.  I am interested to do it, but I am not sharp in PHP.  My shared hosting provider does Python so I can write one, but I don't have a good domain name for it, i can't use the main one since I would like to make it freely available.

Anyway if anyone is interested let me know, i probably won't duplicate effort.

there's services like feedburner doing this for you. last time i checked (long
ago) it used to be free. you can request them to create a feed for any site, and
they'll create it. sounds much easier than creating an app. that reads the whole
site, via wget probably, then sorts out the desired posts and converts them into
an RSS feed. i _could_ do that, but don't want to spend the time and energy.
particularly since this service is already available for free.

Yes, there are some sites which can create third party feeds for sites which don't have one.

But the the Vrindavan Darshan site isn't regular about the updates, i see that today's photos don't exist.

So anyway, I have a friend who will be doing it, or I will do it, is simple.  Just checking today's date and a few days backwards for valid photos.  Their file name structure is regular, i checked back a few months and I can pull up pictures from jan 2010.

So I will put up a link in a few days for others to use once the rss feed is working.
