We would like to set up online search engine of the Bhaktivedanta
College Library (5,000 titles). At the moment BC is using Access
dBase. Engine, which should be a part the present web
(www.bhaktivedantacollege.com) should have the next facilities:
- search by title and author.
- browse by type (Books | Journals | Conference Proceedings |
Magazines | Reports | Other Materials)
- bookings of the books (basket)
- Admin site - bookings / catalog update
1) Is there any open source search engine available?
2) Anyone interested in the project? Certain budget available.
Examples:
http://onlinebooks.library.upenn.edu/lists.html
http://training.esri.com/campus/library/index.cfm
http://www.lib.wayne.edu/sites/elephants/bibliography.php
Thank you for your kind help!
Your servant,
Dinadayal dasa
I am working with the BBT to build a digital repository based on
Dspace. We would be interested in working with you on digital
content.
For your library, I recommend talking to Hari Sauri prabhu. they are
implementing some software solution at the BRI in Kolkata which was
recommended by Stella Herzig, a professional in the field of library
science. According to e-mails that I have the software is called
NextGenLib, but I couldn't find it online. The closest I found was
NewGenLib (http://www.verussolutions.biz/web/node/29).
In any case we should collaborate on metadata definitions.
Your servant,
Pancharatna Das
