I am working on a new web site for Food For Life in Sydney

I am interested in linking up with Twitter and Facebook

with Twitter it seems to be straight forward to start a twitter account called Food for Life Sydney

with facebook is it a better idea to start a fan page rather than an entire account.

What do you think, any suggestions appreciated

Yes Prabhuji, a fan page would be the way to go. Although you need a
facebook account to manage a fan page.

You could link Twitter and Facebook to your website and have all the
content there automatically posted on Twitter and FB.

I can create a fan page and when I update that all the (hopefully) fans will be updated via facebook or twitter

Mebbe I shoud be using some third party software that updates the blog on the site, twitter and facebook.  Does someone do that kind of thing, any software recommendations anyone?

I'm not sure anymore, because I set it up over a year ago, and it just works. I update twitter and my facebook updates automagically. I never update my status in facebook itself.

I use this to update my facebook status from twitter. I also use twitterfeed.com to feed my blogposts into my twitter account, which then flows to facebook.

Additionally I have facebook configured to pull my blogposts in as notes.
