Dear friends, I need to create a newsletter. Anyone got only easy way to do that. I figured the best watt is to make the newsletter in HTML and post it and use an email list and the usual outlets (Dandavats etc) to announce each new edition,
Is there any advantage to creating an attached newsletter that you could send IN the email to the recipient. The only advantage I can think of is that they can read an attached email off line more easily, whereas a web page (the HTML solution) is usually only read online, except by more savvy personalities.
Anyone sending out a newsletter at the moment? Anyone using a web service to create or deliver a newsletter or similar instrument?
Any ideas would be appreciated,
Hare Krishna

hamlesh is right: phpList is easy to set up on any linux server with
PHP/MySQL and works fine. you can attach your newsletter complete with
images & everything, so the receiver downloads everything when s/he
receives the email, or just include links.
for namahatta.org i used to do something inbetween: include the article
teaser in the email, but link to the images and clicking on the title or
"read more" would bring the reader to the website. phpList can be easily
configured to do either or a mix.
but you should really take care to only send to receivers who actually
opted in to get your newsletter; any good webhost would kick you out
very soonif you started sending unsolicited mail, how ever well
intentioned.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at phplist when I thought of asking the advice from this august group.
The hosting service I am looking at has phplist as an option in the control panel
