The Delta 1010 card works fine with my Asus K7V / Athlon 800 system for
Wavelab, Sound Forge, or system sounds. The problem I am having is,
Cubase VST 3.7 or 5.0 both communicate with the Delta 1010 for only
one boot after installing the Delta drivers. Then Cubase will run and
communicate with the Delta 1010
IF and ONLY IF I delete the Delta 1010 Driver in Safe Mode and have
windows reinstall
it EACH and every time. Note that, even if I run only Windows after
this "delete and reinstall"
somehow the "preferences" file gets corrupted. If I run windows but
not
Cubase, then reboot windows, then run Cubase, all the lovely error
messages

1: "Not all the selected devices could be opened with their selected
options...."
2: and then, "Lost Communication with the Audio Card "
Keeps constantly coming up every Three Seconds.

It seems that Windows itself is corrupting the Delta 1010 Driver
or its Prefs. I have selected a PCI slot that assigns the Delta 1010
an unshared IRQ (10)

Please Advise! Is there an inherent conflict here?

Thank You !

ps:
M-Audio's Techs told me that the Delta 1010 was compatible with the
Athlon and K7V in May. After weeks, no, months of pain with this
setup, the person who describes himself as the last word in experience
with bugs and compatibility at M-Audio Tech Support, Eric Anderson, told
me yesterday that: 1. The Athlon couldn't be expected to work with the
Delta 1010 because "VIA chipsets (The K7V uses the VIA KX-133 Chipset)
are of the "lowest grade") and besides which, the Athlon processor is
"lacking in floating point performance" that is necessary. Seems to
contradict everything else I've heard about comparisons between the
Athlon and P-III, in which case the Athlon is lauded for its superior
floating point performance.
