Why Laboratory Testing Matters

Arms with gloved hands using pipette with text overlay, "New Testing Video Released"

The Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) recently released the educational video, Why Laboratory Testing Matters: The Patient’s Important Role Before a Kidney Disease Test is Ordered, developed in collaboration with the National Kidney Foundation to highlight the essential role of laboratory testing in patient care. DLS released the video as part of the rollout of our updated Diagnostic Excellence Initiative webpage

This video highlights the importance of laboratory testing, with a focus on the role and impact of the Total Testing Process. Designed for an audience of patients and care teams, the video encourages active patient participation, clear communication with healthcare providers, and informed decision-making about laboratory testing.

Share this video with your public health and clinical network to promote patient education and support an understanding of laboratory testing.
