Verified Wolf Depredation In Oconto County

On July 7, 2026, USDA-Wildlife Services verified that wolves killed a calf on a property in the town of Maple Valley, Oconto County. Auditory deterrents have been deployed as a non-lethal abatement measure. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) partners with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Wildlife Services department to investigate reported conflicts with wolves.
