CAMPAIGN CATCH-UP

August 20, 2024

Watch today's edition of Faith Nation from Washington D.C., for in-depth coverage of this week's most pressing issues in the nation's capital.

HOT ITEMS 🇺🇸

The Democrat National Convention (DNC) is underway in Chicago. Monday night, President Joe Biden didn't take the stage until almost 11:30 p.m., leading to complaints he was pushed out of prime time. Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are scheduled to speak tonight; watch it here

Outside the DNC, Planned Parenthood is offering free chemical abortions to women and free vasectomies to men who attend the convention. Pro-Life Democrats for Life of America Executive Director Kristen Day said this on X: "Providing free abortions at the DNC is a concerning display of disrespect towards human life and motherhood, as it overlooks the need to provide support and options for a pregnant woman. We expect no less from Planned Parenthood. It's just shameful how low Democrats have sunk."

In this week's Campaign Catch Up, CBN News Chief Political Analyst David Brody, Dan Andros, and D.C. Debrief's John Stolnis discuss the DNC and the many pro-Palestinian protestors expected in Chicago. Brody analyzed statistics being reported about "white evangelical Protestants" in relation the number of voters that Democrat candidate Harris hopes to peel away from former President Donald Trump. Harris efforts to woo evangelicals is being assisted by the group Evangelicals For Harris, among others. Finally, Brody outlines the electoral path that Trump needs to win in November and whether or not they think the election results will be final immediately after election day.

The Democrat Platform was unveiled this week at the DNC and every American has access to the details. Curious about the policies Harris and Walz would put into place if elected? Read the 2024 Democratic Party Platform to learn more about Harris' plan for the economy, jobs, immigration, abortion, gender, and every other major policy issue.

OTHER NEWS 🇺🇸

Last week, Franklin Graham blasted Evangelicals for Harris for using a clip of his father, The Rev. Billy Graham, in their first campaign ad. "They are trying to mislead people," said Graham. Here's the story.

In the midst of so much political turmoil and economic uncertainty, don't miss Pastor Greg Laurie's powerful message of hope about how younger generations are hungering for the Gospel of Christ.
