Natural means that it is free of anything processed. That means all
preservatives, coloring, and processed ingredients are not in it. Many
people make the mistake of just reading the front of the bag and
believing everything they tell you. I was not the exception to this
rule. There are actually built in laws that allow the dog food
manufacturers to say one thing while they quietly do another. The only
way to be sure your puppy is getting natural puppy food is to make it
yourself.
They manufacturing plants get they meat they use shipped in from other
places. Most times the meat has already been processed before it
arrives there. Meaning that all of the chemicals and preservatives
have already been added before it gets there. Still safely with-in the
law, the companies that produce the food you buy can now claim that
the food has not had anything added to it. Because of the laws in
place, manufacturers only have to claim what they themselves put into
the food.
Ask yourself this, if you leave meat on the counter for the next day
what would happen? It would rot. Now if you leave meat on the counter
with preservative in it to keep it from rotting then it would still be
edible. So that leaves the question on how can you buy natural puppy
food from a shelf at the store when it has no preservatives in it. One
of three things are possible.
1. The food has no meat in it.
2. The food has preservatives in it.
3. The meat is rancid because it has been sitting on store shelves for
the last three months.
Either way you go, it is definitely not healthy for your dog.
