SUBJECT:   Dallas Bull, Tampa Florida, August 25, 2022

FROM:        Dori McCormack     (Please note, I am not the instructor)
                    (Dor...@aol.com)

Tonight was Dallas Bull night! It's a night I look forward to every week but this week the thought of driving to Tampa from Lakeland was not appealing. The weather had turned horrible with traffic going very slow down Rt 98 and across Interstate 4. It rained so hard that you could barely see 2 feet in front of you. We are all driving between 35 and 40 MPH. The rain stopped when I got close to getting off the interstate. When I arrived there were lots of people waiting to go in the building and by the time I got out of the car, they were already inside. Here is the playlist for Thursday, 8/25/22 at the Dallas Bull in Tampa, Florida:
OPEN:
Southern Dreams by Maddison Glover
11:59 by Rachael McEnaney White
45 Degrees by Ria Vos
Like We Were by Alison Biggs & Peter Metelnick

It was time for DJ Tommy to take over the DJ booth. Here is his playlist, including some of our requested dances:
OPEN
Raised Like That by Darren Bailey
She's A Natural by Jonno Liberman
Shake Your Cake by Amy Glass and Cody Flowers
Move Like That by James Dennis
Funky Donkey by DeeDee Maynard, Wendie Smith & Pat Espers
Heartache On The Dance Floor by Stephen Pistoia
American Kids by Randy Pelletier
Cruisin' by Neil Hale, to the song My Maria
This is where I said my goodbyes, packed up, and left for home. Thankfully, the rain held off till I got home this time so it was an easy commute home, at least!
Ms. Melanie Cheever, thank you for such a fun night! You had a good mix of dances to teach, so there was something for every level of dancer there. Good job!
Thanks to Cheryl Hurlburt for helping in the DJ booth! I hope you've had a very happy birthday today, but I'm sorry that the two dances you wanted, weren't played tonight! Love you girl, have a great weekend!
Thanks to DJ Tommy for playing most of the songs we requested this week. It is truly appreciated!
This week I tagged Rita because it was her birthday yesterday and I missed it. I'm sorry Rita, but I hope being with us tonight, made your birthday just a little brighter!
To all the people who graced our dance floor tonight, I need to thank you all. Some of our regulars who were away last week, were back this week. For how long, no one really knows, so we just take one week at a time. Still, the world was a little better because you all made it back tonight, so thank you.
For those who have never been to the Dallas Bull, I'd like to extend an invitation for you to come and see our club! We have a great dance floor, a great dance family, and great dance instructors. Melanie teaches on Thursday and Kathy teaches on Friday. Both are excellent at what they do, so come and check it out. Doors open at 7PM and lessons because about 7:30 PM. On Thursday night, it's Ladies Night and Ladies receive free drink tickets with their paid admission. Cover is $10. Come join us and see what all the fun is about!

Subject: Explore and Dance (Ireland)

From: Marge

Explore & dance
I just got back from Ireland Explore & dance. What an amazing time. I would recommend this event for anyone next year. It starts out with touring for 3 days & then dancing with workshops & open dancing. Gary runs the open dancing at night like a party. The atmosphere is so full with excitement. One big party. You meet people from all different countries. You travel with the same people on your bus & while on the busses, it's party time. You will laugh practically the whole time. You have a private page to post & share pictures with everyone on the trip. I can't stop talking about this workshop. It is definitely one of the best, put it on your wish list.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance. Marge

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey

List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it.

Reminder from Carol

Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important.
