Subject:  NEW YORK STATE OF LINE
FROM: Denise Brault

A huge congrats and thank you to Rosie Multari and her staff for another successful New York State Of Line (NYSOL) event at Honors Haven, Ellenville, NY!   We kicked off Thursday night with a buffet dinner followed by bonus lessons in the ballroom.  I learned Rachael’s brand new “Looking Like That” (48-count, no tags or restarts) and moved over to the nightclub for open dancing with DJ Mike Serben.  He did a great job of playing everyone’s requests all weekend, as did all the DJ’s.
Friday kicked off with a buffet breakfast, followed by Zumba with Rosie and Earlybird dance workshops.     The afternoon involved a welcome party with tons of Hors d’oeuvres and open bar, more open dancing, workshops and vendors.  At 6:30 ANOTHER buffet dinner  followed by open dance, demos of Saturday’s dances and three rooms of open dance.  With no shortage of opportunity to eat, there was breakfast served at 11PM with a bonus lesson at 11:30.
Saturday followed suit with three buffet meals, workshops, open dance in many rooms and an instructor’s show at 9:30 PM.  After the raffle (event passes and 50/50) we were treated to ice cream sundaes in the Lobby, more open dance and Karaoke.
Sunday’s breakfast started at 8AM with repeat teaches of dances taught, open dancing and a farewell lunch.
This event is super organized; the staff is friendly and helpful.  With Rosie’s seating plan you can hang with your friends, but you will also meet new people.  All the dances are taught twice so you don’t have to miss anything, or you can have a 2nd teach if needed.  The resort is sprawling with a gorgeous view, and some rooms are a bit of a hike, but Rosie is very accommodating if you have a special request.
My favorite dances :
Recovering (Guillaume Richard)
Night Crawl (Debi Pancoast, Jill Babinec)
Graduated (John Robinson)
The Wild Life (Scott Blevins)
Pom Poms (Fred, Daniel, Guillaume)
Zillionaire (Guyton, Will Craig and Treavor) (love this one)
Falling  (Rachael)  I didn’t take the lesson, but wished I had
Coconut Water (Treavor)
Play that Song  (Derek Steele)
Italiano (Rachael, Neils, Shane)
And more!
Next year’s date is November 9-12 and you can hold your spot for $20 and request a specific room.
Thanks, Rosie, for a fun weekend!

SUBJECT:  LET'S DANCE DAY SOCIAL - The date has changed to November 26th
FROM:  Lindy

Our LET'S DANCE DAY SOCIAL WAS scheduled for Nov. 12th.  Due to conditions beyond my control at Beardall, we have to change the date to Nov. 26th.  But, the good news is that we will get to practice more dances, and BONUS.... dance off the Thanksgiving pie!!!!  So, we are changing the date in Nov. to Nov. 26 and we still have Dec. 10th too.  Please pass the word so that no one shows up on the 12th.  I am very sorry to have to make this last minute change, but it is beyond my control.

I hope to see you on Nov. 26th for our November LET'S DANCE DAY social.  (and you get to have an extra piece of pie since you will dance it off!!!) This year the TG pies won't stay on our thighs!!!

Then I hope to see you only two weeks later at the December 10th LDD too!!!!

Scheduled dates for Jan.- June 2017:
First Sat. of month....(fingers crossed)...
Jan. 7
Feb. 4

Have been here since Tuesday and my favorite dance is Blessed by Jackie Miranda. Dancers are flocking to learn it.  Raymond taught it and Jackie joined us to dance it. Raymond added a technique lesson at the end as a bonus. The technique classes by Kat have been So worth my time and the opportunity to take a classic like Burlesque from the choreographer(Norm Gifford) was awesome. I finally got the ending!  He also gave 2 music classes for choreographers and line dance teachers which I attended..... a great learning experience!  Jo Huntington
