CONGRATULATIONS to all the competitors and winners at UCWDC Worlds 2017. Here are a lot of videos if you haven't had a chance to see the live feed over the weekend. A special congrats to Brian Barakauskas for being inducted into the HALL OF FAME (and to me for spelling his name. LOL.) He has always been an inspiration to me in so many ways, both as a person and as the hardest-working dancer ever. Congratulations to an honor well-deserved, Brian. I hope someone will send me a Youtube video of the showcase performance so I can share it.
Also a big congratulations to our home-state girls, The Wild Roses for their 1st-place championship win. Great job! Here's a video of their performance.

Thank you for dancing with me today at Let's Dance Day! I hope you got to do your fav's and didn't have to sit too much. We danced to 63 songs, skipped one, faded one early and added on 7 dances by request....and still got done by 4:00!!! Attached are the photos of the group and the instructor group from today! When I get the photos taken by others I will post them on my website.
As always, I look around for stuff people forget and leave behind. Today, Gail lost her fitbit (not sure it was lost at Beardall actually), but didn't find it. We found a water cup - silver with purple lid with just a dab of water left in it. I rescued it and have it to return next month. It was found on the Gore St. parking lot side by the windows, so if you are missing one, please let me know. Also found was a little silver starfish charm, which I turned in to lost and found at Beardall (I don't think it was from our group). But if you think it is yours, let me know so I can get it Monday nite. Thus ends my lost and found saga! lol
Next LDD will be Feb. 4 and I will start working on the playlist soon.
Thanks again for helping me kick off the new year by dancing into it!!!

Great to be back !!! ... at it :-) ...... Sorry to my AZ's for such a long break & thanks for coming back !! :-)
After being away for a couple of months it was all new dances & no recaps, so instead I just took it easy - Let them sit down in between dances !! lol
:-) ..... I had 11 dances ready for early-birds/prime-time/late-birds & we managed 7 of them, so 4 c/f to next week .........

SOCK HOP
Dear All,
The fourth annual “DANCE THE DAY AWAY” is almost here! This year’s theme is a Sock Hop! Wear your best casual 50’s & 60’s attire and comfortable shoes for dancing.
The event will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 pm. Doors will open at 1:00 pm for sign-in. No pre-registration is necessary. The event is held at the Mandel JCC located at 8500 Jog Road, (between Gateway and LeChalet Blvd) Boynton Beach, FL. 561-740-9000. We will have water and snacks in the TV reception area outside the Group Fitness Studio. Please remember no food or water is allowed in the gymnasium.
The afternoon is all about DANCING AND FUN! It is your chance to have a great afternoon of dancing for FREE!!! All dancers and non-dancers come and join in the fun. Teachers bring your students and students bring your friends. Try your hand, or actually your feet, at something new. We have line dancing, Soul line dancing, Broadway Jazz and demos.
You know dancing is great for you, so come spend the afternoon with us and your friends and have a fabulous time dancing the day away!
