Wednesday 9/22

I have Bill & Lynda McGee's address if you asked me for it before I had it.  Just let me know and I'll send it to you.

I was reading some posts on Facebook last night when the earthquake struck in Australia.  Everyone was feeling that 5.0 quake and there were pictures of some destruction.  Hope all our friends are okay!

The Friday & Saturday night socials will start at 7:30 each night and will also be at River Walk.
Doors will open Saturday morning at 9:30 with FREE coffee and goodies to get you going. SUBJECT:  WORLD DANCE MASTERS EVENT IN FLORIDA "SUNSHINE IN LINE"

FROM:  RACHAEL MCENANEY

VACATION

Orlando and the surrounding areas have so much to offer for people looking to spend a few extra days before or after the event.

Our famous theme parks Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, Legoland etc.. museums, boat rides, airboats, swim or float down a natural lazy river at one of our springs, walking trails, shopping, restaurants, comedy club, 4d movie theatre  and so much more right on the doorstep of the hotel.

If Disney or one of the parks is in your vacation plans then feel free to get help planning your vacation with our very own specialist Jennifer Cameron (I don’t get commission for this I just know she is VERY good at what she does).

Subject: New Mexico Dance Fiesta is almost here!!

From  Donna Caudill

Greetings, fellow dancers!

The time is almost here to celebrate the 31st Annual New Mexico Dance Fiesta!! We are so excited to see you all again!

A few important things to note:

  • Pro-Am entries must be submitted NO LATER THAN Sunday, September 19th.
  • Couples, Line Dance and Team entries must be submitted NO LATER THAN Wednesday, September 22nd.
  • Our Thursday night workshop will begin at approximately 6 pm; don’t miss your chance to learn from the amazing David Appel!! The welcome dance will follow immediately after the workshop has concluded. You must purchase the workshop ticket separately from your weekend pass. Tickets are available online or at the Registration table Thursday afternoon for $15.
  • The only way to watch the Masters/Superstars/Teams competitions is to purchase a Dinner Show ticket. This is already included in the 3-day Hot Pass and can also be purchased separately either online or at the Registration desk beginning Thursday afternoon. The show is already close to a sell-out, so don’t wait until the last minute if you want to attend….get those tickets now!

The “elephant” in the room – the State of New Mexico is currently enforcing a mask mandate for all indoor public spaces. The mandate was recently extended from September 15th to October 15th. The only exception is for eating and drinking unless you have a letter from your physician stating that a mask is detrimental to your health. This includes all indoor sports. Masks will be required to be worn on the dance floor during competition and social dancing.

We have re-configured our layout in the ballroom to include more table seating during the competition so that dancers from the same studios will be able to sit together. We will not be having our traditional “staging” area; we are following the lead of several competitions that have gone before us this year and will call the dancers to the floor from the general seating area so that we can all stay with our “people” as much as possible if so desired.
We have Dance Fiesta cloth face masks and hand sanitizer for anyone that registers in advance and will also provide them for on-site registrations until we run out. We will have disposable face masks as well. We will have a way for people to identify whether or not they are open to dancing with others or would prefer to practice social distancing.

If you have any questions, please email us at dancefi...@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as possible!

We are in Albuquerque and preparing for a great time!!

Wishing you all the best –

How to Post in the Newsletter

To post something in the newsletter, send an email to tka...@aol.com using the following format:

SUBJECT: What, When, City, State (or City/Country if outside of the U.S.)

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey

List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it.

Reminder from Carol

Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important.
