TUESDAY
NOTE FROM ME: I've finished writing the report except for adding some
of the dances I took classes for and trying to find my notes which I can't
find. Grrrrr. I also have some picks from a few people and I hope
others will send yours so I can add them to the report. I'm going to try
to send it all to Stacy late this afternoon and she will post it along with the
pictures and all the cute little characters she made and the complete schedule
from the event. I'll send it in a separate e-mail when it's ready to
go.

SUBJECT: Beginner's line dance classes at Hemingway's in
Stuart, Florida
Just a reminder...
This Tuesday, June 5th at
Hemingway's, we will be starting our beginner's line dance class promptly at
6:30. This class will run from 6:30 to 7:30 and then we will have our usual
intermediate line dance class, followed by our partners dance class. Make sure
you tell ANYONE who has wanted to learn to line dance but is too intimidated to
just come out on the dance floor and join in, about this class. This class is
entirely a BEGINNER'S class, starting with the true basic steps and working our
way up to the ones that are being done at Hemingway's and other clubs around, so
don't miss your chance! This will be an 8 week progressive session and is open
to ages 14 and up. The cover charge is $3.00 14-20 and $5.00 over 21. We will be
taking it quite slow to make sure everyone learns. Please tell all your
friends...we want to make this a success. For those of you who have attended my
Jupiter classes, this is your opportunity to continue with the lessons, since
I'm not at Jupiter School any more until at least the next Winter school
session. My lessons will be structured the same way as I did the Jupiter
Community School lessons. Let's make this a success....if it is, we can continue
with this format. Hemingway's is such a great place to be on Tuesday
nights...get rid of those Monday hum-drums and break up your week. Good music,
good floor, good friends, good staff...and lots of fun. Hope to see you soon....
Thanks for your support.....

SUBJECT: BONANZA BASH EVENT
FROM: MARK
COSENZA
I can't say how much I enjoyed the Memorial Day
weekend Bonanza Bash event hosted by Doug & Jackie Miranda. With the size of
the event being limited and a great group of instructors to share the rooms
with, I can't say enough good things about this experience. Instructors included
a nice cross section of dance styles with Guyton, Peter & Allison, Joey
Warren, Barry & Dari Anne Amato and Northern California favorites Bob &
Trish Boesel as well as your event hosts Doug & Jackie Miranda. I was happy
as always to share the teaching duties with these great folks.
Each dance
was presented twice and both times was against the same dance in the other room.
The thought behind this was that every workshop could be taken at least once.
My favorite dances were Peter & Alison's Bridge Over Troubled Water
(taught already) and Cara Mia as well as Guyton's Cheatin' Myself. Guyton has
been purposely trying to mix up his dance styles and here was a nice success.
Other popular classes and/or floor fillers that I noticed included:
Hick
Chick (Guyton Mundy's latest)
Desire - Barry & Dari-Anne Amato
Rainbow Connection & My Rock - Doug & Jackie Miranda
Boogie
Wanna Dance - Amato's & Mirandas
A Cowboy & A Dancer / Aloha - Peter
& Alison
Boom Boom - Barry & Dari-Anne Amato
It's Not Over - Bob
& Trish Boesel
Not all inclusive of course, but these were the ones that
caught my attention. My latest dances My Heart Is Dying and Elvis Blues were
introduced at the event (video clips available on You Tube and at
http://countryedge.com) as well as the very
fun dance Atomik Polka by Bastiaan Van Leeuwen.
The event is located right
next to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA., so there is plenty to do off the dance floor
as well as on.

CRY TO ME, Paul McAdam, Music: Cry to Me by Solomon Burke, 32 ct, 2

A GIGOLO, Robbie McGown Hickie, 40 ct, 4 W, intermediate, Music:
Gigolo, Helena Paparizou. My class is doing very well with this dance. It is
fast and furious with a real cultural flavor to it. Taught at the JG2 Marathon
as a special teach on Thursday by Christopher Petre. Those who did not learn it,
took notice to those on the dancefloor. We will need another review of this one
this week. It's a real keeper and should be around for a while;BRIDGE OVER
TROUBLED WATERS, Peter Metelnick & Alison Biggs, Music:Same name by Hannah
Jones, 64 ct, 2W, intermediate. Another dance that is getting popular on the
east coast. This dance has one easy tag that happens at the end of the 2nd wall.
Fun steps that are right on with the music. We love this one.JJ JAM, Junior
Willis and John Robinson, Music:Hear Us Now by Southside Rockers, 32 cts, 4 W
funky, easy 4 ct tag. Took this one at the Marathon and fell in love with it.
The toe tap steps are right on with the music. Great sexy hip bumps. Not too
difficult, but will take a little time with the first 8 cts. The room was full
for this workshop.
Beginners:Review: TUSH PUSH: Need to practice this one
alot with the beginners. The 1/2 and 1/4 turn combos are something new(remember
when???) LITTLE SUSIE, Kathy Brown, Music: Wake Up Little Susie, 32 ct, 4 W.
Cute little number with struts, heel taps and swivels. Fun for the beginner with
nice combinations. Taught at the Marathon.
DEER PARK, LI ( Dancing with
Bernie)
Since I will be one of the guest instructors at the dance this
weekend I will be teaching MOOOTOWN BOOGIE - the line dance, Michael Barr &
Michele Burton, Music:Ain't too Proud To Beg by the Temptations, 64 ct, 4 W,
easy intermediate. Just took this at JG2 and thought it was perfect for a teach
at a social dance. Actually it was created for just such an event. Familiar
music and easy repetitive steps. Can also be done as a circle
dance.

SUBJECT: What's
Happening in Orlando, FL
FROM: Sandy Albano, email: flutt...@earthlink.net; website: www.spreadyourwingsanddance.com
It was an awesome weekend in Raleigh, NC at the Marathon! Gotta be my
favorite event ever! Thanks, James and Jean for another great party with so many
old friends to visit and new ones that we discovered this year! You will be
reading all about it in the newsletter. Also learned some terrific dances that I
will be sharing with my classes and teaching at upcoming events. Please see the
website for details on all of these upcoming Florida events!
GONNA MAKE U DANCE WORKSHOP: Orlando, FL-June 16th at the Whirl &
Twirl. This will be geared primarily for beginners! A great starter workshop
with easier dances. Bring your students if you are a teacher! Teachers: Suzanne
Wilson, Lindy Bowers, Janis Graves, Sandy Albano
SPACE COAST BLAST: Saturday workshop on June 23rd in Titusville at the
North Brevard Senior Center. Teachers: Lindy Bowers, Kathy Brown, Suzanne
Wilson, Bill McGee (NOTE: We have cancelled the Mini-Workshop on this day to
avoid conflict with this event. We will be heading to Titusville on that day.
But come back for the Social on Sunday, June 24th!!)
FL MASTERS: Orlando, FL July 19-22 at the Airport Marriott. It's the
MASTERS! What else is there to say? We are so pleased to have this event
returning for its second year to Orlando.
SIZZLIN HOT SUMMER BASH: Lakeland, FL August 18 at the Lakeland Center.
James Gregory, Terri Alexander, Sandy Albano and Kathy Brown teaching with two
rooms all day.
Agenda for the classes this week:
Tues, June 5, 2007 - AMF Lanes, Altamonte Springs, FL
Beginner Class from 6:15pm to 7:15pm Week 3
Butter Beans by Christopher Petre (New) - Fun country dance to a Neal McCoy
song. Especially for my country lovers!
*So Excited by Junior Willis (New) (*Haven't been able to find the
stepsheet for this one yet, so I will have to bring paper. JUNIOR, ARE YOU
LISTENING??) Learned this one from Junior in Raleigh and liked it immediately.
Cute and funky to Janet Jackson song, but not extreme. Just extremely fun!
Not Like That by Robbie McGowan Hickie (Review) I love this one. We have
such fun with "checkin' my style!" A fun, pop dance with this infectious little
lyric that you can't help singing along with as you are dancing!
Lost (You Are Not Alone) by Rep Ghazali (Review) - I have been raving about
his dance for several weeks now. If you love NC2's (and who doesn't) you are
just in heaven right now because that seems to be our current hot topic. And
this one is very interesting and different while still only being 32 counts and
has no tags and funny business. How cool! To top it off, I think the music is
spectacular-I really enjoy Michael Buble!
Wed, June 6, 2007-AMF Lanes, Altamonte Springs, FL
I will have to miss
class on Wednesday night this week as I have to be away for business. Diane and
Sarah will be covering the class for me on Wednesday and spinning the
tunes.
Hot Damn by JP Potter (New) New from JP and taught at Marathon. A clever
little dance to Dangerous Man.
Loco by Christopher Petre (New) I was shopping for a dance to teach at an
upcoming workshop. This was close but at 64 counts and the speed of the dance is
right up there, I decided I really liked the dance a lot but I will do it at the
regular class instead.
Soul Energy by Michele Perron (Review) This dance was done many times this
weekend and our dancers need to get this great west coast one as it looks like
it could become a classic dance. One more time to get the timing down on that
really quick first set of 8.
U Don't Know Me by Paul McAdam (Review) We have been loving this cool and
funky dance by Paul McAdam but we have been messing with his tag. Seems even Big
Dave is ragging on Paul about this tag. If Joey and Paul end up as my house
guests next month,....hmmm, I might just have a little explaining to do!
All Kickit subscribers are invited to participate in 4 ongoing
surveys.
The Top 10 results for each survey are shown here. (Due to ties,
lists may
show more than 10 dances.)

Friday:
AMI OH, Vivienne Scott, Music Ami Oh, 32 ct, patterned partner dance. This is
done with couples along with the line dance. Easy dance for the couples to pick
