| There was lots of dancing going on this weekend and I enjoyed seeing all the videos and watching the live goings on from World Dance Masters and The Virginia Line Dance Festival. I hope I will get some more reviews from both with your favorite dances and how it felt to be together again IN PERSON! |

Our own Jo Thompson-Szymanski, who has personally benefited from this foundation, will be hosting our charity workshop on Saturday. CHOREOGRAPHY: The Ft. Wayne Dance for All hosts the largest choreography exhibition in the USA! It’s known as the perfect “first time” opportunity to give choreography a try! Three divisions are offered: Beginner/Novice; Intermediate/Advanced; Phrased. Cash prizes in each division and for one overall choreographer. Complete choreography rules and details are available at www.ftwaynedanceforall.com. We are thrilled to announce that AC THOMAS will once again be the official sponsor of the 2022 Ft. Wayne Dance for All. (www.acthomasmusic.com) What more exciting is that they have partnered with COLT FORD (“Crank it Up” – Goin’ Hamm (Trevor Thornton) for the release of “SHAKE A LEG REMIX”, a new, fun spin on “Hillbilly Shake”! There just might be a new choreography exhibition offered to incorporate your own phrased part to the existing “Hillbilly Shake” dance (choreographed by Jamie Marshall). Additionally, we are hoping for a special promotion for dancers due to the popularity of “Sweet Tea” in 2020. Keep checking the website and watching for additional details for a chance to win cash! Subject: Let's Dance Day - Aug 7th
From: lindysda...@gmail.com WOW.....less than a week away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our next LDD will be Aug. 7th (playlist attached in case you didn't see it on the website).
I do not need to know if you are coming or not this time (things keep changing though, so keep checking your emails). More people are wearing masks - whether or not fully vaccinated....and you are most welcome to do that if you wish.
Please keep your eye on your email and the newsletter for updates just in case we have to cancel/postpone our LDD. I do not anticipate that it will happen, but neither did we anticipate what happened last year. 😪
Be sure to bring your own snacks/lunch/drinks. The machines are no longer in the building.
I hope to see you next Sat. or before!!!

Subject: Report on World Dance Master's
From: Claire Bell
We are back from our first big dance event in 18 months
It was so well organised and as i said on another post we felt extremely safe, as there was plenty of dance space at the workshops and for social dancing
The majority of people wore masks when wandering around and the badges "Space requested" or "Happy to hug" we were given were a great idea ! (obviously i was happy to hug)
Enjoyed all the workshops i attended and have come away with some great dances to teach !!
The "Arena" ballroom where we based ourselves for the majority of the event absolutely rocked it
We all went through so many emotions, laughing mainly ! but also a little tearful at times because it was so hard to believe that it was all actually happening and seeing our dance friends for the first time in a long while
The shows were amazing ! such wonderful talented people who again worked so hard to keep us entertained
Last but not least thankyou to our little gang, Emma, Alison, Brenda, Val, Chelle, Joyce, Joan, Tony, Karen, Gill and Cheryl for your company and laughs, also to everyone involved in making this event another to remember !
Now to catch up on some sleep !!

How to Vote in the Weekly Survey List up to 8 of your favorites with choreographer and level if you know it and email to me at tka...@aol.com before 6:30 PM EDT on Sunday. Please add the choreographer and level of the dance if you know it. |
Reminder from Carol Please do not number the votes 1-8, send me extra things, or put the name on one line and the other information on another line, it saves me time because I have to erase all extra things and spacing and formatting before I can sort. Thanks, as always, for your votes. Classes, socials, and events are starting again and we NEED to know what dances most people will know or want to know so your vote is important. |
