So get this. Last night I took my daughter out for her birthday and since she likes to read, we went to Barnes and Noble.Walking by the philosophy section, I see this:This is the shelf of philosophy books devoted to the discussion of God.Notice that all of these books are endorsing atheism.Ok, fine. But where are the philosophy books arguing for theism? They aren't in the philosophy section! They are scattered about in the "Christian Life" section.I can’t help but wonder if this isn't due to the common misconception that atheism is "reason" and theism is all "faith".I don’t know.Anyway, this idea that reason is opposed to faith or religion is nonsense, yet it is commonly held by many people in our culture. And to be fair, the misconception is perpetuated by the fact that most Christians don’t know how to defend their faith using reason. Please don’t be one of themHere’s a good place to start. We still have our courses on sale for Christmas. Here are the links again:Christ 101 is a full blown course on the evidence for Christianity. I worked on this course for over 3 years and brought in a lot of top scholars as well. In this course you will learn things like why religion is important, how there can be a true religion, why the Gospels are historically accurate, why Jesus was the divine being He claimed to be, why miracles are rational to believe, why we should think that Jesus fulfilled Messianic prophecy, why we should think Jesus rose from the dead, and why “betting” against the Christian faith is a very irrational and reckless thing to do. This is a massive course totaling up to 14 hours of engaging and helpful instruction.Logic sharpens the mind like nothing else can. There is no other subject that focuses on the art of correct thinking and that’s why logic is the most foundational subject one can study. This course will teach you how to think clearly, how to make important distinctions, how to judge and weigh evidence, how to critically evaluate and challenge opposing viewpoints, how to distinguish the true from the false, and a host of other important critical thinking skills.P.S. Make sure you use only those links here in this email because these are the only places where the Black Friday sale is being offered.Talk soon,ScottScott M.
