Dear all,

In addition to Bernard's summary of key points of our discussion on 12 July, please note that we would like to include in the agenda a half-day "Horizon 2020 Information Day" event (provisionally from 14:30-17:30, tbd) on 1 Oct.

With regard to potential side visits on 2 October, we would appreciate it if the Korean side could give consideration to the following interests expressed by our colleagues:

n  Samsung research, with possible focus presentation on Korea's views on 5G. Samsung recently reported about 28 Ghz experiments in that context.

n  ETRI

n  Song Do city (technical aspects /IoT) which is a world class reference of  smart city

n  KOREN experimental network/test-beds (alternatively, the KREONET-Emulab (emulation based network testbed) at the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) might also be of interest).

Best regards,

Alvis

Dear Bernard and et. al.,

Have a nice weekends and lets keep in touch.

Best regards,

Dear Taesang and Korean colleagues,

Many thanks again for the fruitful discussion this morning. My summary conclusions are as follows;

i)                    Dates of workshop 30 September and 1st of October confirmed;

ii)                   Korean side will organise an official invitation letter to DDG Zoran Stancic for the opening;

iii)                 Korean side interested in having a stand at ICT 2013 Vilnius, EC to send information on application procedure (F3?)

iv)                 Workshop agenda developing. Korean side to send the names of the contact points for the two session where these are missing (A3 and B3) and the Korean contact points email for all sessions. Further session developments to be discussed on a per session basis, between EC responsible and ROK responsible.

v)                  Target session length: 2 hours, 4 speakers on each side (for confirming interest, we may contact more).

vi)                 EC will try to confirm as many speakers as possible by the next video conference, on 13 August.

vii)               Main matching approach is at project level, matching at individual level desirable where feasible.

viii)              Next Video conference: 13 August, 9:00, F3 to organise.

ix)                 EC request to include an information day on 1st of October, from 15:00 to 18:00 (provisional slot)

x)                  Tours/visits: EC to make a proposal to Korean side;

xi)                 Restricted meeting on 1st of October, afternoon: EC officials may be accompanied by selected research experts, industry or academia.

See also proposal for some track changes in latest version of the agenda.

Best regards to all,

Bernard

Dear Bernade,

Thanks for the update.  I attached Korean side tentative proposal.  I used your updated version as a base document and added our proposals.  Besides topics and speakers, we added two more sessions: one on the first day and another on the second day.  Both are to discuss and decide on the topics for Horizon 2002 WP#2 Coordinated Call.  Lets discuss this during our conference call today for more details.  See you soon.

Best regards,

Dear Bernard,

During our workshop program review meeting, what we were focused on was our interests on the list of topics and presenters you suggested.  After reviewing the program, we found that the list you suggested includes topics of our interests.  Therefore, we would like to request that you can try to invite all the presenters listed in the program.  Besides the list, some of our researchers are interested in inviting additional projects and presenters as following:

-      COCONUT, CONTENT, eCOUSIN, mPlane, RITE, TROPIC, Flamingo, Trilogy2 (We do not have information on appropriate contact points for these projects)

-      FED4FIRE (Prof. Piet Demeester, IBBT)

Regarding information on our projects and presenters, we are still working on soliciting the appropriate ones.  We will let you know the list before our video conference call on 7/12.

Best regards,

Taesang

Dear Bernard,

In fact, we had a program draft review meeting on 7/3(Wed) and are integrating the opinions and comments by experts from the relevant areas.  I will send the resulting feedback by tomorrow(7/5) morning in your time.  Sorry for the delay.

Best regards,

Dear Taesang,

As holiday period is coming fast, we would like to start as soon as possible to invite potential speakers at this event. Could you let us know at your earliest convenience if we can proceed with our proposal? We can discuss further details during the VC, but we should start inviting potential speakers early next week.

Many thanks

Bernard

Dear Bernard,

We safely arrived on Friday.  We appreciate your hospitality during the meetings and a prompt feedback.  We will review your proposal and provide ours early next week.  We also need to fix the video conference time.  Please let us know your convenient time on July 12.

Best regards,

Dear all,

Following the discussions on a workshop in Korea on 30 September and 1st of October, I hereby submit for your consideration a workshop proposal.

We have tried to match as much as possible the joint interests. Please, note that all speakers' names and project names (projects are between parentheses) are tentative at this stage and may change.

I have tried to provide as much information as possible in this version, such that you can already have a good idea of the matching of our proposal with your interests.

As promised, I also send you:

- a brochure that details the latest set of contracted and running projects in the field of network infrastructure and technologies;

- a similar brochure for the area of cloud computing/software. See:  http://cordis.europa.eu/fp7/ict/ssai/docs/projects/factsheets-call8-brochure.pdf

Looking forward to the video conference on 12 July,

Best regards,

Bernard
