Good Evening Team!,
After class last Thursday, Martin and I met for a few minutes and he emphasized the gravity of our final presentation. Since we will be presenting with the largest decision makers at Lamont (namely, the director of the entire institution), we will need to come up with quantitative backing to our arguments (financial & environmental) and let our numbers do the talking. In Martin's words, we are on the right track but have done only 20% of the research required for putting the final project together. These next few weeks will be tough, but please take a second to reflect on how important our work has been and will become.. Pat and Pratigya have invited the head honchos to take advice from us!!
Jin: (1) Upload presentation to courseworks. (2) Create Quantitative CBA if Lamont were to install ground source heat pumps for several buildings. Focus attention for buildings that use more natural gas (3) Research: Are there GS heat pump subsidies or grants? Have other institutions or facilities installed them? If yes, please contact. (4) Figure out what the baseline is & other units
Liora: (1) Compare 2008 vs. 2012 data using "Summary Energy Use" (2) Create a mini-packet of plans for the campaign, building challenge, and behavioral initiatives present to the Campus Life committee by Nov 2. (3) Find out who was in charge of the Recycle-mania campaign Note: Essentially what we're trying to do with this first meeting is ask for their critique & guidance so that we can continue what we have been doing the best we can.
Izzy & Sarah: (1) Research: CUNY 1 million solar roofs project. Quantitative data on Brookhaven solar farm & Moonachie solar farm. (2) Create quantitative CBA of financial benefits and environmental impacts to installing solar farm on campus.
Tsechu: (1) Research: Are there a government or organizational subsidies for green or cool roofs? What other institutions have installed them & who can we get in contact with so that we co (2) Create drafts of Behavioral Campaign logos & losters to present to Campus Life by Nov 2. (3) Assist Liora with the Campus Life Packet
As always, let me know if you have any comments, suggestions, or q's. I have also attached the minutes that Sarah posted on courseworks.
ENJOY SANDY ERRBODY! :)
