This week I have officially made the switch over to BlueLetterBible.org for all my online reference, linking and reading needs. While this may seem juvenile to some, this is a big deal to me on a number of levels.
Textus receptus is THE word of God, and the default on blue letter bible, and rigthly so. The revised version adopted the roman catholic critical text instead of using the majority text plus looking at the church Fathers which became textus receptus. These are just more reasons to love blue letter bible.
We also appreciate the motives behind Blue Letter Bible and have one of their search tools on our website. A very good mobile version of BLB is now available for smartphone users that is similar to the standard version.
Easy to navigate: Just scroll down to read or tap the two downturned arrows on the bottom rail to activate auto-scrolling. To turn the page or go backwards, press the right or left arrows on the top rail, respectively.
Advanced word search: Interested in a specific topic? Tap the magnifying glass on the bottom rail to search for verses and passages about certain biblical figures such as Abraham, or topics, like charity.
Various versions: There are multiple versions of the bible, and Blue Letter Bible has most of them, including The King James Version (KJV), English Standard Version, The Holman Christian Bible, and New American Standard Bible (NASB).
Text or audio: Whether you're unable to read easily or would just prefer to give your eyes a break, turn on audio under Preferences, then Other Settings to hear narrated or dramatized readings (with multiple actors) of your favorite chapters.
Audio isn't available for every version: Narrated readings are only available for KJV, New King James Version (NKJV), New International Version (NIV), Reina Valera 1960, and NASB. Dramatized readings are only available for NKJV, New Living Translation, and New International Version.
