Can someone please please please please please advise how to create coloured fonts as opposed to highlighted lines.

No Need. Have discovered the solution for coloured fonts by unchecking the 'Marker Mode' check box in the Options selection beside the Workflowy Painter entry in Tools/Extensions in the Chrome drop-down menu. Sorry to have bothered you all.
Workflowy is definitely the best single pane outliner for WIndows.
