After your workers comp claim is accepted, workers comp pays for your
medical treatment, until you are at MMI (Maximum Medical Improvement).
Some Injured Workers have succeeded in getting workers comp to pay for
things like nursing services or housecleaning, etc.
What you must understand is that these types of benefits are NOT
ordinarily paid - but getting workers comp to pay for them CAN be done.

Here are some general basic criteria & steps:

1 - There must be a documented need for the service(s).

2 - The need for the services must have arisen because of the
work-related injury.

3 - The treating physician must FIRST issue a prescription. Make sure
the workers comp
carrier gets it, AND keep a copy for your files.

4 - Your treating physician must be able to explain WHY those services
are needed,
from a medical standpoint.

5 - The underlying purpose must be designed to cure or relieve you from
the effects
of your injury. ((This #5 is where most Injured Workers fail to
win.))

If you have additional tips to help other Injured Workers with getting
workers comp, please post a comment.
