Post reports of bugs/crashes/freezes here. Please be as specific as
possible about what the behavior was (e.g. a tile disappeared while I
was trying to swap tiles on my turn; the app crashed when I played a
word and clicked Menu>Submit Word).

Known bugs include:

*Duplicate tiles when double-clicking to zoom out
*Force close when updating board state (sporadic)

For most bugs that result in duplicate or lost tiles or a
misrepresented board state, selecting Menu>Refresh should restore the
board to a playable state.

We're working hard to address all force close issues related to image
rendering.

Seems that every time I submit a word that is in error (an invalid
word). I am getting a force close. Installed today (6/3/10) and
running Motorola Droid with stock 2.1

Strike that, I think it's just a random force close, started happening
on good words also.

Not sure if this is being worked on yet, but have just tried the
latest version from the Market and am getting the issue still with
"Android System" force closing when trying to allow access.

after putting a letter on the board when it is regular(not zoomed in)
I can't grab the letter to bring it back down into my hand. I have to
zoom in on the board to grab it.
It would be cool if I could move the board around while zoomed in.

also after placing tiles on multiple rows on accident i get the
message that tiles must be on straight line, which is correct but
after correcting my mistake I either get the same message or some form
of error like it not accepting the word and showing different letters
than what i placed on the board.

the loading time after my phone going into standby mode is really long

great game, can't wait till it's finished. thanks for the help!

We're still experiencing some issues related to graphics. We hope
these will be fixed in the next client update, which will hopefully be
this week.

There is something very strange with your particular configuration.
Installing an update should not require allowing system permissions
for accessing your account for authentication. You should only ever
have to click "Allow" once, the very first time you run the app,
because this setting is stored based on the package name of the app.
That means even if you uninstalled and reinstalled the app a dozen
times, or installed 100 updates, you should never be prompted to
accept this permission again. Unless you do a factory reset.

If you're using the manufacturer's ROM, I would suggest contacting
customer support for either your carrier or manufacturer.

Unless of course anyone else is experiencing this particular problem.
Please let us know if you are. Although this is something that is
occurring outside the context of our app (the prompt is coming from
the OS), so I'm not even sure how we would go about dealing with it.

That's not really a bug. The size of a tile on the zoomed-out board is
really too small to be interactive.

> It would be cool if I could move the board around while zoomed in.

Yes, we've had several requests for this feature. We will look into
making improvements to the UI in future releases, and this is on our
list.

We'll put this on our list to investigate. Thanks for letting us know.

> the loading time after my phone going into standby mode is really long

This is because you have to reauthenticate when the app starts back
up. We realize that loading times are slow in many areas, particularly
the game list. We're working hard to improve the speed.

Thanks again for your feedback. We're glad you like the game. Thanks
for bearing with us as we work out the kinks and make improvements. :)

I was initially using the standard T-Mobile UK rom but de-branded
using the generic HTC rom. Now running the very latest most recent
update. On all of those ROMs I've had the same issue.

The Allow has never worked - you sent me a copy that didn't need to go
through this step, rather had the option to enter an email address and
password instead. Now that option is gone as I have updated. If I
uninstall and go back to the version you sent me, I can't play any new
games as new invites aren't showing on my game list - assume it's cos
they are coming from a new version than I have.

Does anyone reading this use an HTC Desire to play WordWise?

Replying to my own post - seems the problem is with "Apps
Organiser" (an app to put icons into folders on the home screen).
Uninstalled Apps Organiser and now WordWise works fine. Guess I can
live without folders for now.

Every now and then when I select a tile and end up not putting it on
the board, it disappears. I can back out and come back in and the
letter is back but just a little annoying.

We try to eliminate those cases as much as possible, but when they do happen, you can use the "return all tiles to rack" menu option. If that doesn't work "refresh" should do the trick.

I'm experiencing an issue with the latest CyanogenMod release (6.0.0-
N1-RC1) where my game is force closing when I try to view the game
board for any game. I can login to my account and even view the list
of games. However, selecting a game consistently causes a crash. I'm
assuming you'll need a logcat to diagnose this? I understand
completely that it may be ROM-related, but CM is one of the most
popular ROMs at the same time. :)

Latest release (1.24) crashes more often when hitting play. This is on
a Nexus One running 2.2. I've emailed logcat details.

I found a solution for those using Cyanogen 6.0-RC1.

In the phone settings, go to CyanogenMod settings -> Performance
settings -> VM heap size -> and up the VM heap size to 32m, then
reboot your phone. Not sure if this breaks anything else, but it does
allow you to play a game.

Hello,
My wife and I are both using the free version of Wordwise on our HTC
Incredible (Android 2.1) phones.

We've played several games against each other, as well as other
people.

At this point we each have one game in progress. But when either of
us tries to invite the other, we get an error that the other's game
list is full. Application info says Version 25.

Is this a bug? Or anything else we can do to troubleshoot?

Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know that I went to you blog post about the
iPhone preview and wanted to leave a comment, but was unable to log in
using my openID.

Instead of redirecting me to my own openID provider, I was forwarded
to a Google Apps login page.

Let me know if you need any more information or would like me to test
any changes that you make.

Is the app engine server down? After updating to the latest version I
keep getting an error message "problem connecting to server, could be
a poor connection" this happens on wifi and 3g.

figured this out: my google apps account (beta testing the conversion
process) was just converted by google to act more like a regular
google account, so my password changed. I had to go into account
settings and remove the password, and the automatic login now works,
and I no longer get this error message.
