I've changed the membership from automatic to it being pending until I
approve them.

I've always had it that you had to be a member first in order to post
here. I'm confused by the last 2 bits of Spam we got today (which
I've removed) as these two people did not become members first, so I
don't know how they managed to post their messages. So I can't
promise that this will stop the SPam, but I hope so.
