I just want to thank Michael for this recent spurt of activity! What
a lot of new features...

- We can now do six-letter plus boards
- He's changed the design so that we can input longer words
- We can now set up custom boards
- He has a custom board generator where he's posted many uniquely high-
scoring boards

Survey:
Any thoughts about them? Like 'em? Hate 'em? Don't need 'em? Love 'em?

I must admit that I like the 6 letter boards, though not quite as much
as the 5 letter boards, which I will continue to set up.

Probably I need to get used to my 5 letter words not counting!

Like these custom boards, had a go at setting one up myself but nobody
got the longest words, might have a go at another one later.

I am now having a bit of a problem playing the 4+ games, as I find
myself still hunting the 6 letter words, forgetting I can input
smaller ones!

I am now convinced that the Custom Boards should have some sort of
indicator or special title showing that they are custom. I just
played one 3x3 tournament where almost all of the boards had the very
same letters in them, with no words possible.

Custom tournaments are ok for one or two boards, and the title gives a
clue about what's special about it, but not for some long series,
especially when it seems like a prank.

I hope others agree and that Michael will consider this...

Which tournament was it?

I will look into that - one thing you can do is notice, when doing a
"view"
of a tournament, if the "manager" of the tournament is also a player
with 0 points total but no actual score for any game in the
tournament,
it is most likely a custom one.

I need to think about how to show (visually) the custom nature of the
tournament. Or, maybe the ability to make them would need to be
curtailed if it is being abused.
