Editorial Board Meeting Thursday, October 8th at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday night at
the Alliance office
we are having a
Writers' Editorial
Board Meeting!

The Alliance needs...
reporters,
columnists,
photographers,
cartoonists,
reviewers,
poets,
and more....

The writers' collective
meeting, at 2807 SE Stark St.,

begins Thursday, October 8
at 6:30pm.

Come by and join us.
The theme for November is Gender.
The Alliance collective focuses on
grassroots activism and proactive,
civic engagement. Writers are
the cutting edge for social change.

We want writers and thinkers with ideas
for topical references, articles, features, and
columns that focus and flow from gender
identity and progressive issues in the
Portland community and area.

Help us brainstorm for the December edition,
which has an Education theme. With budget cuts
in public schools and universities and a reduction
in students registering, we'll be taking a look at
how education can be revitalized in Portland.

Some can explore alternative models for teaching,
universal education, and other creative ideas.
Let's write locally and think globally.

We hope to choose themes for next year: war & peace,
unions, health care, freedom, corporate corruption,
creative arts, reading, organizing, political campaigning,
economic restructuring, equity, jobs, justice, and more...

There will be pizza, salsa, chips, and something to drink.
Plus the writers' vice... coffee and tea.
It should be a great night!
