I help a user download and install the Outlook integration for Salesforce and we were trying to add an email to a record. There are a few problems-namely that the icons that you select when attempting to add an Email are greyed out. Has anyone encountered this?
Beginning with the Outlook 2016 version, the Download email for the past feature applies to your mailbox and to shared mailboxes. This helps to prevent the .ost file from becoming too large. However, an administrator might have implemented a registry value to revert to the previous behavior. To determine this, check for the DisableSyncSliderForSharedMailbox registry value. If the value exists and is set to 1, it indicates that the entire contents of shared mailboxes are synchronized to your local .ost file. This is the behavior assuming that the registry values CacheOthersMail and DownloadSharedFolders are not set to 0.

When accessing your email in desktop Outlook, you may find that it only shows emails from the past 3 months, and at the bottom of each folder listing there is the message "Currently displaying all messages newer than 3 months."
Unfortunately, sometimes when working with email messages using Outlook, those formatting options are greyed out. With these options greyed out, none of those changes can be made to the content of the email. This applies to text copied into the email and text typed directly into the message.
I'm a bit confused. i've been using ablebits addin for excel, but ham hitting a wall for some configurations and settings here. how do i get to support? I have used duocircle outlook archive emailing system. is it compatible?
A comment in the previous discussion indicated he may not have all his preferences set correctly. In the desktop app, I located the preferences, & took a screenshot of what mine looked like (all of the notifications checked). Before emailing the pic to him, though, I unchecked all the preferences to test that I was sending him the right solution. I hit apply, then OK. Voila, no more Follow option in the online version. Excellent... I have found the source of the issue, right!?! But not so fast. I put the preferences back the way they were... apply... ok... NO FOLLOW OPTION. It remained greyed out. Restarted without success. I do not want to try uninstalling and reinstalling as I own lots of important folders and am scared of what might happen. And I should not have to do that, it's just a preference! Right? Any ideas out there for getting my Follow back?
Now I want to duplicate machine\john (outlook emails mostly) to domain\john.smith. In the past I used the Files and Settings Xfer Wizard and done. I tried that here and it crunched away for a while, made the file, but the restore had no effect - it ran for a while, had a progress bar, but it's like nothing happened at all afterwards.
I also tried logging in as domain\john.smith and copying the entire directory that the PSTs are in from machine\john and a lot of the mail was there when I launched outlook after replacing the PSTs, but not all of them??? I got errors about files in use when doing this method, which I figure must be why not all the old emails are in the inbox?...
