Hi all,

Here's a rough spec of my thoughts for a comprehensive Promotions
engine (probably needs tweaking). As I said in the previous post, I
don't have the skills to build this but I can look after UX and
styling if anyone is keen to have a crack at it.

Promotions Specs

Discount Type

free shipping
$ off
% off
buy X get Y free

Applies To

shopping cart total (includes shipping)
shopping cart subtotal (excludes shipping)
shopping cart item
category item

Conditions

if category category name is / contains / starts with / ends with
if item item name is / contains / starts with / ends with
if category quantity = / < / > / >= / <=
if item quantity = / < / > / >= / <=
if shopping cart total = / < / > / >= / <=
if payment method
if shipping method
if variation
if promo code

Time Limit

Start date
End date
When quantity sold is

Extra Features

Ability to display the promotion (need extra fields for description /
image / url to link to) as a widget or on shop landing page (include
template tags, shortcodes etc)
Publish promotion to facebook / twitter
