Q. home search for real-estate site?

Can anyone please offer advice about setting up local real estate listings on a WordPress site? Any advice, warnings? May I please discuss this with you?

I know about the IDX plugisn that can be used. The client is an agent affiliated with a local company that has home search functionality on its site. Is it possible for her WordPress site to link into the parent company’s back-end data for home engine and to display results on her site or will she need her own IDX plugin?
