Good afternoon one and all,
It is with joy that I send out this message, invitation and reminder to you regarding worship this Sunday, October 17th, 2010. It is the 21st Sunday of Pentecost, the season of growth. Several of you have been missing at worship and I strongly encourage you at this time to commit to your spiritual well being!!
My heart is filled with joy as I think of you at work at play or out and about in your lives. I am moved by the many ways you live your faith in word and with your hands. I know that you find renewal in your hearts and minds when we gather as the people of God!!
This Sunday we will again share a "Faith Minute." Mike Miller will be our guest this week as he shares how his walk with Jesus has been a real plus in his life. Our thanks to Mike and aslo to Emily Taylor for last Sundays' presentation. There are 7 episodes to view in the coming weeks. Make sure you are present for all 7 at worship!!
Who didn't enjoy the wonderful chili supper last evening? Thanks goes to Adam's Rib and especially Sharon Zinanni and Jim Eshelman for the great chili!!
The readings for Sunday are as follows:
Genesis 32:22-31
Psalm 121
2 Timothy 3:14-4:5
Luke 18:1-8
The sermon is based on the Genesis reading- please take time to read through it so that you will be familar with the story of Jacob wrestling with the angel of the Lord.
ALso this Sunday Deb Kinnicutt will be in the east room between services to offer tickets for the Octoberfest celebration at St. Paul's on October 24th- 4-7 P.M. This is a fun event meant to support our friends at St. Pauls and Immaneul who have had a difficult year. I encourage you to come share in the joy of fellowship together!!
Grace and peace,
I do so look forward to seeing you in church!
Pastor Mark
