[SJLC] Third Sunday after Easter

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Greetings in the name of the Risen Lord! Even as we celebrate the
hope of eternal life that we have in Jesus Christ, we are also
reminded of the reality of hardship and death in our world. Pastor
Mark's mother, Dorothy Oehlert, entered life eternal on the afternoon
of Wednesday, April 14.

I know we will all hold Pr. Mark, Nancy, Pr. Mark's siblings, and
their entire extended family in prayer as they work through the
grieving process. The funeral arrangements are as follows:

Visitation on Sunday, 1:30p-4:30p at Salem Lutheran Church, 1145
DeKalb Ave, Sycamore, IL.
Funeral on Monday: 9:30a viewing, 10:30a service at Salem Lutheran
Church, 1145 DeKalb Ave, Sycamore, IL. Luncheon to follow.

On Sunday, we welcome as a guest Pr. Charles Steinke, who will preside
at the Lord's Table at both worship services while Pr. Mark spends
needed time with his family. Our readings are:

Acts 9:1-20
Psalm 30
Revelation 5:11-14
John 21:1-19

I'm looking forward to seeing you all, and I'm excited about the
message I'll be bringing you on Sunday.
