I want to keep 'd&b' together with the ampersand between them. Wordle
seperates them and ignores the '&' symbol. Is there any way to get
round this?

Best option is to use the advanced feature. You will need to add a
weighting for each line in the format shown. In practice the easiest
way to do this is to use a spread sheet.

Here's the steps.

If you have a chunk of text do a normal wordle and use language - word
count to display the results.
Select all the data and paste into a spreadsheet.
Insert a column between the column containing the words and the column
containing the numbers. Fill the column with : (colons)
Edit as you want. eg make sure d&b is there with a word count
Cut and paste all three columns together into Wordle advanced

NB Make sure there is a number for each word in the correct format
otherwise it doesn't work at all eg
d&b:7

If you just have a word list and not a chunk of text you need to
analyse, you can type the text and weightings directly into the
spreadsheet (easier than doing it directly into wordle advanced as you
can copy the colons and numbers easily.

If you want all words the same size just give tham all a number 1
