trouble with Wordle and java

Every time I use Wordle my Firefox browser seems to lock up and
crash. I suspect it is a problem with Java, but is anyone else
experiencing this and have you found a solution? I was not having
this problem 6-7 months ago. This happens very suddenly and then
everything you click on in the browser is dead and just give the dead
"dink" sound when you try to click on it.
