When, in John chapter 8 verse 58, Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM,” the Jews had had enough. They were so offended to the extent that they took up stones and wanted to stone Him, ostensibly, for blasphemy. I could not but wonder: what if Jesus had told them that He actually created each of them! Would they, perhaps, have been so disgusted that they would have rushed Him with the intention of strangling Him?

In John 1:1-3, the Bible says:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

If the Word was with God from the beginning, it means that everything that God created by speaking His Word was actually created through Christ, since Christ is the Word of God. The heavens, the earth, light, every living thing, and even human beings, were all made through Him. Colossians 1:16 records:

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

When people create things, they do so either for merchandise or for pleasure. Since God has no merchandise in His character, He must have created all things for His pleasure. This was attested to by the Word of God in Revelation 4:11, which says:

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

The foolishness of those who deny creation by God shall know no bounds. Thankfully, those of us who know God testify to His ownership and supremacy over all things. Since God created us for His pleasure (to serve and worship Him), it means that we owe all things to Him and must acknowledge Him in all that we do. We must know that there’s nothing we are that God did not make us and there’s nothing we have that He did not provide for us.

If the totality of our being belongs to God, it means that we should be holding nothing back from Him. When God needs our time, we should remember that He gave us the time. When He needs our money, we should know that we wouldn’t have the money without Him. We were made to serve Him, and should do so without any hesitation.

Are you available for service? What role are you playing in the church of God? When last did you volunteer to do something in His Vineyard? Until you decide to do something, there will always be reasons for you to do nothing. Until you pick one role in the church, or in a ministry, you wouldn’t know the grace of God that is upon your life for service. When God created us, He put a requirement in us to fellowship with Him and to serve Him. If you haven’t been paying this role, would you please reconsider? God bless you as you do so. Have a wonderful week!

PLEASE ACT NOW:

If you are yet to give your life to Christ, you do not have a covenant with God and His promises do not apply to you. To come under these promises, please surrender your life to Christ today, by praying this prayer:

Lord I know that I am a sinner and I am unable to save myself. I am sorry for my sins and I pray that you please forgive me. I am aware that Your Son Jesus died for my sins and I accept Him as my Lord and savior. I surrender my life unto you from this moment. Please take control of my entire being and help me to be obedient to your Word, going forward. Thank you, Lord, for hearing me. I have prayed in Jesus’ name. Amen.

If you prayed the foregoing prayer, you have just been born again. Please find a Bible believing church in your area and ask to see the pastor. Let him or her know that you have just given your life to Christ and s/he will guide you on next steps in your journey as a child of God. The Lord bless you!
