I've been having a bit of thoughts about sustainability and the conference we're planning. What do you think about sustainability? I think it would be really awesome to continue the tradition that we had at the last time (minus the miso soup incident with the spoons... fun times) and really get the event as green and sustainable as possible. I'm a really big fan of sustainability and I think we can carry it a long way with the conference.
Cheers,
Anthony
I'll hold it in mind but I'd not make it a driving force. And no speakers on wind farms.
Back to sleep now...

That was great... It's a bit tougher in Melbourne, because you can't really
get good coffee there.

I asked about putting wordcamp.org.au on the wordcamp.org infrastructure and
canberra.wordcamp.org (with .au if that ends up being possible)... but Jane
has been travelling. Then the weekend hit. So, I figure we'll hear something
tomorrow perhaps.
Plus wordcamp.org is getting some upgrade/infra love so setting up new sites
is paused for the moment.
I will have to bug her about Canberra this week, so I'll ask about the other
bits too.

So what venues have we decided are coolest from 1 - 10. I'll call them today if need be...
I've been looking at using Wellington Highschool for the NZ Feb WordCamp or possibly even Te Papa our museum.
Best,
Dan
Yes I thought the conversation had relocated and I missed the bus,Anthony did you create that other site for us to chat on?Seem to remember you were putting together a better chat area using P2.Did that go ahead and I just missed the invite?Tony
I also think we should be aiming to get Matt M as key note for both WGTN & Melbourne.
In terms of people on this list who would be interested in being a speaker. Throwing caution to the wind I'll be straight up about wanting to see Jdub & Sara talking about their respective specialities...
I'd be happy to talk about how we use WP and custom post types for storing game / level data in gamemakers.co.nz??
What do you guys want to hear?
Ciao,
Dan
Real world examples of how features are being used by developers, with a quick walk through of how they've implemented it would get a huge +1 from me on behalf of newer developers who might attend.

Lets get a potential sponsor list happening here too.
It just occured to me that dual sponsorship might appeal to people. So while Collis / Envato might not be able to speak they might want to pay a premium to been seen as promoting both the WGTN & Melbourne WordCamps...
Just a thought. I can call the venues today - I'll start posting information on the list as soon as I get it...
Ciao,
Dan
