TO DAY PRAYER

1.Holy Father. Although this is a hard passage to read, thank You for
the clarity of its message. Please forgive me when I have enabled
Satan to do his work because of my resistance to accepting Your will.
Help me to be much more discerning and to understand the spiritual
consequences of my wrong desires. May I never open a door for Satan to
use my weakness to oppose Your work. I am truly grateful for Your
amazing salvation and the free gift of cleansing from my sin. Thank
You too for Your astonishing grace in transforming what has been
shameful into something which brings glory to You. In Jesus' Name.
Amen.

2.Gracious God. Although it seems extraordinary that Your Son should
struggle to pray, I am glad to know that He did, and that He
understands my struggle. Forgive me for my weak submission to the
devil's suggestions that I should stop praying, and help me to re-
prioritise my conversation time with You so that I will not fall into
temptation, but keep on obeying You however great the cost. In Jesus'
Name. Amen.

3.Almighty God. Thank You that Jesus Christ was not deflected from His
purpose of going to the cross. Thank You for His example of frequent
praying and His command that all His disciples should watch and pray.
Please forgive me for not taking His example and teaching as seriously
as I should, and for forgetting how easily Satan can pull a prayer-
less Christian away from their commission and Your purpose. When evil
surrounds me, help me to pray and not run away, trusting in Your
loving wisdom to enable me to continue to serve You. In Jesus' Name.
Amen.
