Please find attached two documents submitted as testimony in support of my petition referred to your committee September 17th.  I look forward to speaking with you and the committee this Wednesday at 5pm on this vital topic.

Richard, I applaud your petition and letter to Councilor Rivera, but I am curious what is the Worcester Energy Alliance? You seem to suggest that you are representing the CAC (of which RENEW is a member) and while I believe all the groups within the CAC would support your petition, neither the CAC nor RENEW have been in communication with the Worcester Energy Alliance. As an organizer working with multiple coalitions, it breaks norms to speak on behalf of others who have not authorized you to do so.

After communication with Richard, I realize that I mistook "Worcester Climate Action" (I am not aware of the group) for the Worcester Climate Action Circle (CAC). My concerns about CAC representation were misguided. My apologies.

Please see attached.  First, after 18 months, my petition has gone unanswered.  The Public Health & Human Services committee never met on this question and I was never called to provide testimony by any member of the committee.  As far as I know, no action was taken on this petition.

Second, true to my word, I have formed xiBus.tech as a business in Worcester.  Its purpose is mission oriented:

We are in the process of securing a location for this enterprise and hope to open soon.  I would welcome more assistance from the City in getting this up & running.  Peter Dunn has the initial proposal and has indicated his "support".

First fleets will be the highest priority for Governor Baker - School Buses. His administration's Decarbonization Roadmap is excellent reading for all policy makers and has established 2030 as the target date for the goal.  But hopefully sooner for Worcester:

I applaud your, the Council, and City Manager's recent efforts creating a new office of Sustainability and Resilience.  Our collective hope for the Climate Protection Advocacy community, is that there is broad & deep opportunity for the necessary two way conversation between the City and its many constituents regarding the Climate Emergency, its mitigation, and ongoing consequence. Please keep me informed of opportunities.

Thanks.  Richard Kerver.  508-753-8874.
