I am forwarding an email from the Mayor about anticipated congestion that may result from the unsanctioned and unpermitted motorcycle event taking place tomorrow in the the Long Wharf and Annex areas. 

Please see below - and, I guess, be prepared for some noise around our neighborhood.

Hi, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an important message about parking bans and anticipated traffic congestion tomorrow related to an unsanctioned motorcycle event. Por favor espere para escuchar este mensaje en espanol. 

 

Tomorrow, beginning in the late morning or early afternoon we expect a disturbance to normal traffic around Long Wharf and the Annex neighborhoods in New Haven. Forbes Ave, Alabama Ave, and Stiles St are likely to be most impacted. If you’re traveling, please avoid this area.

 

Parking bans for Saturday will be posted in these areas.This anticipated disturbance is from an unsanctioned unpermitted motorcycle event. The city has been in close contact with the organizers and told them not to proceed with this event. Nevertheless, some individuals have indicated they plan on going regardless.

 

We are making preparations in order to protect public safety. The New Haven Police Department and Public Works Department will be on scene to respond. If you were planning on attending the event, reconsider as you risk being ticketed, towed and potentially arrested. Thank you everyone.

Mañana, comenzando a última hora de la mañana o temprano por la tarde, esperamos una alteración del tráfico normal alrededor de Long Wharf y los vecindarios de Annex en New Haven. Es probable que Forbes Ave, Alabama Ave y Stiles St sean las más afectadas. Si tiene que moverse por ciudad, evite esta área.
