Greetings neighbors - hoping you can enjoy these "balmy" days before the rain and other weather sets in this week. What a pleasure it is to see some receding snow-lines and grass even!

Please see below for a couple of updates.

Public Safety
There were two crime issues in Wooster Square reported in the last week of January per the NHPD Compstat Report - both on Wooster Street:
  • Burglary-Breaking & Entering on 1/21 at 206 Wooster Street at 10:56a
  • Motor Vehicle Theft on 1/31 at 191 Wooster Street at 6:12p

There should be an updated Compstat Report coming out this week. Stay tuned!

The Board of Alders Community Development Committee will meet to discuss an important item this week regarding the English Station. Per the Meeting Agenda, the Mayoral administration’s request is to: "approve the acquisition by the City of New Haven of those properties known as 510 Grand Avenue and 510A Grand Avenue for park purposes, such acquisition to be by way of a negotiated sale and purchase or, if necessary, by such other means as may be available to the City of New Haven which may include the use of eminent domain." The English Station is a decommissioned power station on Ball Island in the Mill River in New Haven's Mill River District which is in our Ward 8 between Wooster Square and Fair Haven. Please try to attend to learn more. You can review full agenda details about the item here.
