Greetings on this lovely summer-like day! Here are a few neighborhood updates!

Public Safety
Compstat Meetings have not resumed this year, yet their bi-weekly reports of neighborhood crime appear online (City of New Haven Compstat Reports - https://www.newhavenct.gov/government/departments-divisions/new-haven-police-department/compstat-reports/-folder-601). There was one larceny from a vehicle in Wooster Square on May 26 at 169 Olive Street at 3pm. However there were 4 other larcenies from vehicles in the downtown State and Orange Street areas close to Wooster Square over the same time period. It’s that time of year when these crimes increase as people leave car (and home) windows open or unlocked. Please remember to lock your car and home windows - and to move valuables out of sight.

No Parking for Street Sweeping Tomorrow (Thursday) & Friday in Wooster Square
As always on the first Thursday and Friday of the month, there will be no parking for scheduled street cleaning. Please look for no parking signs in your specific part of the neighborhood! Cars will be ticketed if not moved.

Wooster Square Monument Dedication Day - Sunday, June 9 - 12noon-4pm
No Parking on Academy Street & Wooster Place all Day
This Sunday, June 9, there will be a celebration in Wooster Square Park as the new immigrant family sculpture will be dedicated by the Wooster Square Monument Committee and the City of New Haven! There will be dedication speeches, food trucks and music. Please see the attached flyer for details! There will also be no parking on Academy Street & Wooster Place on the day of the Dedication - please move cars early that morning.

Pizza-Size Trash Receptacle Piloted in Wooster Street Memorial Park
The HIstoric Wooster Square Association is working with the City of New Haven Public Works & Parks Department to pilot new trash receptacles which are large enough for pizza boxes.  The first one is placed in Wooster Street Memorial Park across from Warren Street and close to Sally's Apizza! Please try it out and let the Wooster Square Watch know what you think!

Have a great week!
