There were four public safety incidents in the broader Wooster Square area reported in the May 25-June 7 Compstat Report, including:
- Larceny from a vehicle on May 27 at 10 Academy Street at 5:45pm
- Robbery on June 1 at 266 State Street at 5:44pm
- Burglary-breaking & entering on June 4 at 10 Olive Street at 7:56am
- Larceny from a vehicle on June 4 at 16 Brown Street at 9:09 pm

Neighborhood Clean-Up Day - June 18 - St. John's Street - 2-4pm
The next neighborhood cleanup in partnership with the Historic Wooster Square Association and Ward 8's Alder Mandy Martinelli will be this Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm on St. John Street. Neighbors will be meeting at Lenzi Park. Just bring yourselves - tools will be provided. See the poster attached below! Summer Solstice Art Bazaar - Saturday June 20 - 5-10pm - Russo Park
The Summer Solstice Art Bazaar will be held with close to 25 art local Wooster Square and New Haven artist vendors in our own Russo Park next Saturday evening June 20 - the eve of the Summer Solstice. Come enjoy local artists and music - and of course the delicacies of our own Wooster Street restaurants! Artist and Alder Mandy Martinelli is organizing this special welcome to summer evening event.
Watering Team Members Still Needed for Historic Wooster Square Park Trees - Please Join 🌳🌞🌳
🌳 New neighbors have moved into Wooster Square Park and they need your help! 🌳 We're looking for volunteers to water the newly planted trees as they get established and put down roots in our community. Each tree needs 25 gallons, once a week, but you'll only need to commit 2 hours at a time! Equipment and instructions will be provided - and stored in the box that is now settled (but not yet quite ready) in the northern side of the Park. Flexible scheduling can be tailored to find a time that works for you. This is a community partnership between the Historic Wooster Square Association, the Wooster Square Conservancy, the New Haven Parks Department, Urban Resources Initiative, and neighbors like YOU!
Historic Wooster Square Association's Summer Community Meeting - Tuesday - June 30 at Lost in New Haven
The Historic Wooster Square Association is holding a summer neighborhood community meeting on Tuesday evening June 30 from 6-8pm at Lost in New Haven on 80 Hamilton Street. Come meet your neighbors, share your neighborhood ideas, hear about community updates, enjoy snacks and libations and explore Lost in New Haven's treasures. Alder Mandy Martinelli is scheduled to be there too.
Downtown Wooster Square Community Management Team Meeting - July 14 - 6-7pm at City Hall & on Zoom
The DWSCMT now meets every SECOND Tuesday evening from 6-7pm at City Hall & on Zoom to encourage civic engagement in Community District 1 by engaging community members, city leaders and Alders from our District in discussions that address community updates and quality of life concerns. Reports and issues for discussion can be submitted ahead of time. You can use this link to join the email list.
