Greetings once again - this is an even more detailed City notice than the one I just sent. It came after the Mayor’s.

My apologies for the multiple notices.

Stay safe and warm,

Sarah

Blizzard Warning: Important Information

Citywide Parking Ban Issued in New Haven

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for our region beginning at 1 p.m. on Sunday, February 22. The blizzard is projected to bring 15 to 20 inches of snow and winds gusts as high as 60 mph.

To help ensure that our snowplows can quickly and efficiently clear city streets, a citywide parking ban will beginning on Sunday, February 22nd at 12 p.m. and last until further notice.

On all posted snow emergency routes and in the downtown area, there is no parking on both sides of the street. There is also no parking within 25 feet of a fire hydrant, intersection, or bus stop. In residential areas, there is no parking on the odd-numbered side of the streets.

For individuals who might need a warm and safe place to stay, a list of warming centers and shelters can be found on the city's website or by calling 2-1-1.

Please stay off the roads during the blizzard as it will be dangerous and will impede plowing. Please check on your family, friends and neighbors who might need a helping hand. As always, please call 9-1-1- for any life-threatening emergencies.

After the storm, please shovel your sidewalks so there is a path at least 3 feet wide to ensure wheelchair and stroller access.
