Greetings Neighbors and Happy 2023! Here are a few community updates! 


Trash & Recycling Holiday Update - Offices of the Department of Parks & Public Works Transfer Station will be closed today, January 16, 2023, for Martin Luther King Day. Due to the holiday, trash and Recycling will be delayed one day this week 1/15/2023 - 1/21/2023.  For example, if your normal pick-up day is on a Monday your trash & recycling will be picked up on Tuesday, January 17th. For a list of New Haven's 2023 Holiday Schedule please visit: https://www.newhavenct.gov/government/departments-divisions/parks-and-public-works/trash-recycling 


Christmas Tree Pick-up - Remember also to leave your bare Christmas trees with your trash for pick through January 27, 2023.

Greetings on this dreary Sunday afternoon! Here are a few updates! 

Public Safety. 
There were three incidents in Wooster Square in the first weeks of 2023. On 1/2/23 at 224 Wooster Street there was a larceny from a vehicle at 7:15pm; on 1/6/23 at 150 Wooster Street there was a burglary/break-in at a restaurant under construction at 7:40am; and on 1/11/23 at 60 Warren Street there was a larceny from a vehicle at 3:50pm. 

Lunarfest 2023: Saturday, January 28 at 10am

Join the celebration of the new "Year of the Rabbit" at Connecticut's largest annual Lunar New Year celebration. The parade and celebration will feature a traditional lion dance troupe, local artists, and local organizations, the annual festivities are full of learning, culture, arts, and fun. The event will take place on Whitney between Grove and Trumbull and is hosted by the Yale-China Association in partnership with the City of New Haven, New Haven Museum, Town Green District, and the New Haven Free Public Library.
