Dear neighbors,

Here are a few public health updates you might want to know about.

COVID Vaccinations for Young Children - a note from Mayor Elicker

Hi, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an important message for New Haven residents regarding the new COVID-19 vaccines for children ages 6 months to 5 years old.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently approved the Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children six-months up to 5 years old. Now, all children ages 6 months and older can get vaccinated. Vaccines are a safe, effective and proven way to help keep you and your loved ones safe, and to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

As a father of children ages 4 and 7 who have both been vaccinated, I can personally attest to the positive experience my family had, and I encourage all residents to prioritize having their children vaccinated prior to the start of the upcoming school year, which begins next month.

To find a pediatric vaccination clinic and for other information on COVID-19, please go to our website at covid19.newhavenct.gov or call 203-946-6999. Again, that’s covid19.newhavenct.gov or 203-946-6999

Thanks everyone for your continued cooperation and please stay safe.
