Greetings Neighbors and Happy May Day!

On this beautifully sunny spring day, here are a few neighborhood updates!

Public Safety
There were two public safety incidents around our neighborhood reported in the Compstat Report of April 13-26, 2026: On 4.20 at 350 Grand Avenue at 12:34am there was an aggravated assault; and on 4/21 at 740 Chapel Street (at State Street) at 6:01am there was a burglary-breaking and entering.

I also heard from a neighbor on Wooster Street that on 4.27 at 3am a car pulled up and ran down the row of cars trying all the doors. This is a reminder to lock your car doors and remove all valuables from sight.

Hometown Recycling Day - TOMORROW - May 2 - IKEA Parking Lot (enter 3 Brewery St) 10am-1pm
Hometown Recycling Day is a major item recycling drop-of and awareness event for City of New Haven residents and sponsored by the New Haven Solid Waste & Recycling Authority. Bring: Books, Bottles and Cans (for instant $); clothing, shoes, and accessories, bedding, linens, stuffed toys; electronics and small electric appliances; papers to shred (on site while you watch); and IKEA furniture. You can get rid of a lot of stuff! See details in the attached flyer.

Great Give - May 6-7 - a 36 hour Fundraiser for Local Non-Profits
Visit the Lost in New Haven Great Give Happy Hour - Wednesday May 6 from 5:30-7pm - 80 Hamilton Street
Lost in New Haven is hosting a Great Give Happy Hour celebrating all of the amazing non-profits in our area from 5:30-7pm at 80 Hamilton Street! Please see the attached flyer - $10 donation to view the collection; beer/wine for purchase at the historic Anchor Bar + free snacks. This is a great time to visit their amazing space, especially if you haven't visited yet!

That's it for now ....

Enjoy the week-end 🌞🪻🌞
