Important Citywide Parking Ban: To help ensure that our City’s snow plows can clear city streets, a citywide parking ban will be in effect beginning today Saturday, February 8th at 6pm. In residential areas, there is no parking on the odd-numbered side of the streets. On all posted snow emergency routes and in the Downtown area, there is no parking on both sides of the street. In addition, there is no parking within 25 feet of a fire hydrant, intersection or bus stop. This is very important — and the city is planning to tag and tow cars not following these guidelines, so please do move your cars.
Off-Street Parking Options: If you need an off-street parking option, there are multiple free and low-cost options available, including selected school parking lots, Yale University parking lots, and Downtown parking garages. See the full list available on the city’s website here.
Shovel Sidewalks: To ensure access (including for wheelchairs and strollers), please shovel your sidewalks so there is a path at least 3 feet wide.
Warming Shelters: For neighbors who may need a warm and safe place to stay, you can find the list of warming centers on the city's website here or call 2-1-1.
Check in On Your Neighbors: Be sure to check in on your neighbors this weekend to see if they need a helping hand.
