While this is late in coming, I am forwarding a message received earlier tonight about an important city-wide public safety community meeting with the Mayor and Police Chief Karl Jacobson tomorrow evening at 7pm at Hill HouseHigh School. Please see below for details.

Hi, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an important message for New Haven residents regarding an upcoming community meeting and conversation on the topic of public safety.  Por favor espere para escuchar este mensaje en español.   

   

Tomorrow, August 3rd at 7 p.m. at James Hillhouse High School, please join me, our new Police Chief Karl Jacobson, and your fellow New Haven residents for a town hall meeting and discussion on public safety in our City. At the meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Chief Jacobson, hear more about our vision and plans to strengthen public safety in New Haven, and to share your thoughts, suggestions and questions as well.    

   

We also want to provide the opportunity for the community to come together to discuss the recent tragic incident and injury involving Mr. Richard “Randy” Cox while he was in-custody of the New Haven Police Department as well as the actions we’re taking as a City to help ensure an incident like this never happens again.     

   

The meeting will take place this Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Hillhouse High School, located at 480 Sherman Parkway.   

    

I encourage residents to attend and participate in this important discussion, and I hope to see you there.   


   

Hola, soy el alcalde Justin Elicker con un mensaje importante para los residentes de New Haven sobre una próxima reunión comunitaria y una conversación sobre el tema de seguridad pública.    

   

Mañana 3 de agosto a las 7 PM en la James Hillhouse High School, únase con migo y con nuestro nuevo jefe de policía, Karl Jacobson, y con sus vecinos para una reunión pública y un debate sobre la seguridad pública en nuestra ciudad. En la reunión, usted tendrá la oportunidad de conocer al jefe de policía Jacobson, de escuchar más sobre nuestra visión y los planes para fortalecer la seguridad pública en New Haven y también usted podrá compartir sus pensamientos, sugerencias y preguntas.   

    

También queremos brindar la oportunidad para que la comunidad se reúna para discutir el trágico incidente reciente y la lesión que involucró al Sr. Richard "Randy" Cox mientras estaba bajo custodia del Departamento de Policía de New Haven, así como las acciones que estamos tomando como ciudad para ayudar a garantizar que un incidente como este nunca vuelva a ocurrir.   

 

La reunión va ser este miércoles a las 7 PM en Hillhouse High School, ubicada en 480 Sherman Parkway.
