Greetings Neighbors,

After sending my WSW email yesterday, a neighbor on Greene Street sent me this update from 6.13.25 which I am sharing since it won’t be shared through Compstat this month.

“Regarding public safety/threat, there were at least 2 vehicle break-ins / vandalism events this week (Friday 6/13) in Wooster Sq.
There were no personal items stolen from either car as we are scrupulous about not leaving anything in the car. Both cars belong to me and my husband, were parked on Greene St, and were reported to the police formally to obtain an incident report …

For my husband's car, they broke the back window glass and it appears they attempted to steal the wheels but couldn't figure it out.

For my car, they used a neighbor's flower pot to lift the car, broke the window and found the wheel lock key, and then proceeded to steal all 4 wheels and rims, and then dumped it back down onto the asphalt causing significant underbody damage…”

Below is a photo that was shared

Beware of this sort of vandalism out in the open … be sure to make a police report asap, and share any video recordings with the police which could be helpful in an investigation.

My best,

Sarah
