A meeting about first steps.

New Haven Ciclovia 2026 – Creating the City of the Future!

You are invited to a meeting to discuss organizing a Ciclovia (or Open Streets)

in New Haven in 2026.

When – Wednesday, October 22

Time – 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Where - Canal Dock Boathouse, 475 Long Wharf Drive, New Haven

A Ciclovia is an “Open Streets” event where miles of streets are closed

to vehicular traffic and open to pedestrians, people on bicycles,

wheelchair users, parents pushing strollers, skateboard riders, and all

forms of non-motorized transportation. A Ciclovia opens the streets and

involves everyone! It is a large and complex event that will require deep

commitment and wide support from many people, organizations, and

businesses in New Haven.

Along the Ciclovia route are musicians, dancing, art exhibits, activities

for children, puppeteers, farmers’ markets, book and poetry readings,

public services such as health stations, and so much more. The activities

along the Ciclovia route are only limited by the imagination of the

community.

Come for a presentation about Ciclovias and why they are growing in

popularity. Review a plan for organizing a Ciclovia in New Haven,

comment on several proposed routes, learn how critical volunteers are,

and how you can assist to make it successful. If you are not available,

forward this message and encourage family and friends to attend. There

is much work to do and all will be welcome!

Join a lively conversation and share ideas about organizing a Ciclovia in

New Haven in 2026 on Wednesday, October 22 from 5:30-7 p.m. at

the Canal Dock Boathouse. We look forward to seeing you!
